Can my tapes be damaged throughout the process?

Moreover, our video technicians perform the conversion with utmost care using the top of the range technology to ensure that no tape will be damaged throughout the process.

Which format will my tapes be converted to?

Is it possible to convert VHS tape with mould in them?

Before we convert VHS to digital formats, we inspect the condition of the tape to ensure all traces of mould and dust are removed. As a result, this can greatly improve the video and sound quality of your footage.

Can I provide my own USB or DVD?

We provide high quality USB and DVD for an additional charge. However, you are welcome to provide us with your USB or DVD and no additional charge will be applied.

Please note: We are not responsible for loss or damage to any existing data on your storage device. We highly recommend backing up any existing data before providing it to us.

How big should the size of my USB be for all the converted videos?

As a general guideline, 1 hour of footage can approximately equate to 1 to 1.5 GB of data. The size of the USB should therefore be determined based on this formula.

Why is there static lines on my videos?

These lines are called “overscan” lines and are a normal part of old VHS videos. Back when we had the old “box” TV sets, these overscan lines were hidden from view because the TV would automatically crop the image all the way around.

However, Our modern flatscreen TVs display videos in a different way called “progressive” which means that we see the whole image without the cropping, resulting in the “overscan” lines being visible.

Could I post my video tapes?

Posting your video tapes to us can be an affordable option if you live afar from the Sydney Region, in fact a lot of our customers do! Simply pay for the postage to our address ensuring your items are properly wrapped. When our services are complete, we post the USBs back to you with a tracking number.

Could you pickup and deliver my tapes?

Customers can drop off their video tapes to our address. However, we also provide an affordable pickup and delivery service right to the your doorstep. Please contact us for a quote.

I'm not happy with the quality of the conversion! Is there anything you can do?

The process to convert VHS to digital formats as well as other camcorder tapes are done in real time

How much does my tapes cost to convert?

The price of conversions are dependant on the duration of the footage and variants such as whether the video tape requires a mould removal, repair or editing.

Please visit our pricing page for more information.

Is it safer to store my videos on a USB or DVD?

Both USB and DVD are safe to store. However, USB has a higher shelf life and we recommend our customers to back up all videos via USBs.

I am unable to play my videos on my Mac/PC?

Your PC or Mac could require a video player that will allow playback of mp4/mkv files. We advise our customers to download VLC player for a smooth video playback experience. You can download it here at www.videolan.org/.

What does video optimisation achieve?

At the Digital Service, after we convert VHS to digital format as mp4 (or other camcorder tapes), we compress the video for web streaming and smooth playback on PC, Mac, mobile devices or even smart TVs.

The quality of the video does not reduce through the naked eye and the size of the file will be reduced.
